i put another engine in this weekend and noticed that the 5th gear is a different ratio then the previous sr20 i had in there. its at 3000-3100 around 70mph now. it was 3600-3700 going from memory. just thought i would mention it since its always been a heated debate with me, since nobody believed me! heheh i swear i'm not crazy! btw my new engine has a cooler thermostat. 20 degrees less then before! it also idles better and doesn't stall as much from the bov.i have a metal headgasket and 8 injectors now too! woohoo!total time to swap was about 8 actual hours. i hade to move a lot of stuff over like turbo, header, all accessories..etc. oh yeah, and my jwt cams had to be swapped over. back on the road again!shaun

Weird gear issue.

You didn't change wheels/tires or rear end right?

Maybe wherever you got the previous engine from gave you a Q's transmission and maybe those gears are different?

I don't know, just making guesses.

I wonder if you had a turboed Q motor? That *could* explain the gear difference, and its not likeing the BOV...

regardless, congrats on the new gear, post some pics.
