I'm getting ready to change the transmision gear oil in my car as it has about 180k miles on the original fluid I imagine. My question before I order my Redline Oil is I want to make sure I get enough.. how much will it take to fill it up properly and what is the correct procedure for removing all the old oil.

Thanks, Aaron

You'll need three qts. The transmission only takes about 2.5~2.7 though. To remove all of the old oil, you'll need to remove the fill plug (located on driver's side of transmission by cat.) Remove that plug first just in case you can't get it off if you drain it first. To drain the oil, take out the drain plug.(located on the bottom of the trans.) You'll need a 1/2" drive socket for each plug.

Hehe yeah it does, I changed the rear end gear oil in my brothers 1983 S-10 that had been in there since '83 I bet... It was the most rancid god awfull smell. But thanks for the heads anyways.

Try NEO synthetic.

I've heard a lot of praise about redline, and also one unhappy story.

NEO is supposedly VERY smooth.

Well the oil is on its way from http://www.myoilshop.com I purchased the MT-90 oil. This is the first time I have used them and would highly recomend them as I did not order enough and all I had to do was call and they gladly added another liter to my order before it shipped out today. Also if you use this dealer code you will get 10% off your entire order 675421 .
