Hi guys,

I need to replace the burl gear knob of an infinti 135, 2003 model. I was very happy to find one online for $ 69.00, dealer wanted $ 160.00 ! but my mechanic is unable to fit and does not want to break any threads etc and make a mess of it, any help much appreciated.

Many thanks...........Miguel

Welcome to NICO.

If it's for a manual transmission, just wrap a towel around the knob, grip it with a good pair of pliers and turn forcefully. It will be tough to break the glue loose, but it will work.

There should be one or two screws on the side of the handle closest to the dash. There will be some wiring as well for the overdrive button, but I'm not sure where that disconnects .

With the gated automatic the knob still unscrews just like a manual knob.
