I was owndering if any of you experience grinding in any of your gears between shifts? It happens to me when I get on the car really hard like racing and such. Usually its just 5th gear... idk if the synchro is goin or what? its a S1 RB25... If teh synchro is going bad does any company make a more solid gearbox config, or does anyone know of a procedure that can be done to strengthen the stock Synchros???

Syncros work much like a clutch plate but for gears. They slip between gears to spin that set of gears to match the main shaft speed (syncronizing the shaft speeds) to let you engage the gears up smoothly without destroying gear teeth. What fluid are you running? I have used Redline MT90 that has friction modifiers in it and seen it wake up sleepy syncros. I have also used Penzoil /w GM Syncromesh in it and also seen very good results (3 grinding gears went away). The Penzoil /w Syncromesh in it looks like a thinner oil though. I don't know if they have heavier weights in Penzoi's line up, but it works great for what looks like a 30 or 40w oil.

Royal Purple transmission Fluid I forget the actual Specs on it, It was the only bottle I found at NAPA. I hear that Redline MT90 will stop that I've asked others and they say change it to that.

try mt90 and make sure your pedal is adjusted properly. if it still grinds your syncros are bad.
