I mean that most older, reflector-based headlights have such poorly-defined beam patterns to begin with, that you'd be hard pressed to really notice a difference when swapping between a usdm and jdm headlight, and even less so when you're an oncoming car that sees the light head-on for just a couple seconds total. Now, more modern headlights (esp those utilizing well-engineered projectors) throw a much more, well-defined pattern with a much stronger kickup on the side... and those have a greater chance of annoying oncoming traffic, but with some judicious adjustments, they usually won't cause any probs
