So today at work, I decided to test fit my Kicker 8" midbass into my 1992 Q45's front doors. I got the Bose Box out, made a template, cut some 1/2" MDF to fit, and VIOLA, an 8" MIdbass in my front doors.

Now, would anyone be interested in having possibly 6 1/2" component panels made to bolt in? 5 1/4" even? Any size possible from 4"~8". Theres enough depth to play with for almost any speaker.

If theres interest, I'll make some, for a small fee. I guess the way It would work, you list your speaker brand/size, and i'll pull the template up online to get an exact fit. The panel will come with longer screws to mount back onto the door sheetmetal, along with some gasket to sandwich between the speaker panel and the sheetmetal.

1 pair 35 bucks? shipped at 40? What sounds reasonable for you guys?

I'll have pictures up tommrow. My friend has my digi cam.

I would be interested in a 6.5" and tweeter tweeter panel... especially if you could get it so the tweeter was "aimable". Some come that way, some need to be mounted that way.

Last time I made one of these for a maxima, we used a metal bracket, a "backstrap", its a thin peice of metal with the width of a popsicle stick. Its very bendable, we used it to mount the tweeter directly over the woofer, and you can bend/manipulate the backstrap to aim/direct the tweeter.

I'll post pics tonite, im going to work now =)

Of course, you could just hard-mount the wire strap at a set angle and simply rotate the speaker to get the imaging you want
