The only mechanical gauge I use is fuel pressure. Which by the way is also a good gauge to have.

are you going to get oil pressure or temp? i honestly think the egt is sort of a waste for $130+ for autometer. you cant really tell if you are running lean by it. i would jsut jsut have a boost gauge and a wideband ($300 for wideband). basically what i have now except i still have my egt. got to have the dual a-pillar pod. the wideband is sooo much more useful an of course accurate for telling what your AFR is.

I think I'm gonna do boost and AFR in the 2 pod a-pillar, and oil pressure someplace else.

I know I know, the AFR gauges arent supposed to be all that accurate... I just want it so I can look at a glance and know that I'm not running way too rich or lean. I'll be using the LM-1 to tune... it just doesnt have a good display for daily driving.

i thought i read that if you used a wide-band on a daily driver it would wear out alot faster (i guess the sensor), and also that using race gas (leaded) was bad for em too.is that true?

i know race gas will kill an o2 sensor fast. and wideband do supposively wear out faster than narrow band sensor. i've been running mine though for well over a month so far daily. new wideband sensors are like $60

Sound like a good plan. I sold my AF gauge couple of days ago and I'm now getting an oil pressure gauge. So I'm gonna be running EGT, fuel pressure and oil pressure on the a pillar (dual+single pods).

EGTs not only tell you if you are running lean or not but also if there are other issues. For example if no oil is reaching the turbo, and I found out this the hard way :pface .

Actually the AF gauge is a very precise 1V voltmeter. The problem with AF gauges is the O2 sensor. Since the LM-1 has an programmable volt ouput (right?) program it for 1V and connect it to the AF gauge. It should be very precise at telling you your AFs. I think this a very good combination for a daily driving AF display.

I'll someday buy a wideband and connect it to my SBC. It's easier to tune when you can use the record/playback function on the SBC. For I now I just sold my AF gauge.
