As many of you know, the overall scheme on my car thus far has been sleeper look. I have a front license plate, holes in my decklid, purple bubble paint, and piss white paint. The only things that give away the secret is the 115mm tip poking out the back, and my shiny "radiator" up front. So, the 2 craptastic indiglo gauges in my A pillar weren't working too well. So, when the m@d tYt3 indiglo burned out in my boost gauge, and my A/F meter continued telling me nothing (like it always had), I decided it was time for new gauges. Insert GReddy 52mm gauges, courtesy of Wayne @ phase2 here. Black faced boost, EGT and water temperature will now be staring back at me, but where?

I took my car to my bosses friends audio shop, and this is what we cooked up:

IMAGE1: To the naked eye, (read: police) this would just look like one of those DIN plates used to cover up the hole after a stereo install by a crappy installer:

IMAGE2: Ahh, but what is this thing here? No doubt something is rattling, and it stops the rattle. At least....., I think.

IMAGE3: WAIT A SEC!!!11 It pulls out, and looky what I found!:

This is the first revision, I don't really mind the little "handle" right now, but I would like to incorporate a hinge to make a door or something, but I don't know how I'm going to yet. Maybe I'll just keep it this way, we'll see what happens. And the guy said he would make them cheap for people that know me, so if you want one, let me know. I'll see what I can do.

Looks like a snug fit, one question though. While driving, do you even look at those gauges?

It's not really a snug fit, there is a lot of room behind that bezel that isn't really obvious.

And I will be eyeing that water temp gauge a lot. Pat and Edgar know why.

Awesome :D I'm thinking of replacing the whole gauge cluster with black face aftermarket gauges installed in black plexiglass thats been spraypainted flat black for a more factory look...that way it's not obvious if someone glances at it (police) and I'm done for anyway if they ever search the car so it doesnt really matter. I think it'd make the wiring on the RB swap a lot easier since I dont know if I can get an R33 cluster. I'm thinking of putting my water temp and oil pressure where yours are budd :D

Yeah, I have something like that myself. Except mine just hold the typical water temp, oil pressure, batt volts from a tripple set I got at auto zone. The pic below is taken right when I got the car (it allready ahd them installed when I bought it) and those gauges didn't work so I'min the process of replacing them as we speak. Budd is quite right when he says there is alot of room back there, I myself was quite surprised. I'm just gonna keep those gauges in there though. Since we don't have emissions here in FL I'm just gonna put my boost, EGT, and A/F gauges in a A pillar pod once I get enough money saved to go turbo.

good job man! looks perfect! i was thinkin of like a spring loaded door... that would kinda swing into place to both close and open... kinda like an old school garage door? then you wouldnt have to keep an eye out for the little plastic piece whenever you parked or cops came around!

Very nice! Im doing a similar set up. I got autometer (cheap stuff :)) gauges. A/F, Boost, and oil pressure in the din panel. Did you make that cover yourself or get it somewhere? Im looking for something similar to keep the gauges out of the eyes of cops and thieves.

Yeah, that's great. Very James Bond. All you need now is the passenger side ejector seat and the rotating license plate. :D

Am I reading NICO or watching a bootleg copy of "Malibu's Most Wanted"?
