i have a aluminum thing too and can't figure out how to mount it safely,I took out the vents and the metal piece just sits on the little lip in there with no real place to mount it or anything.

Mine. $15 shipped . You will need some double sided tape or tiny shelf (L) brackets to hold it in place once installed.

Hayame makes Carbon Fiber Sheets in .002 mm, 1.5 mm, and 3mm thicknesses. I just bought a sheet and cut them to the sizes of the gauges with a hole saw. It came out pretty good. Sand the edges when youre finished so you dont get carbon fiber splinters in your fingers.

I'm not running any AC in my car so if you plan on keeping it i do not know how you would go about it. The gauges might block off the air.
