Hope you didn't crack it or strip the threads because they don't leak and I've never put teflon tape on either one of the two sensors. Check and make sure there's no damage or that the sensor is ill-fitting.splintercell wrote:Im in the process of replacing all sensors on this motor with new. the ecu temp sensor came with new copper washer. i installed that with no teflon tape, and its fine...no leaks. the gauge temp sensor has tape, but leaking and im afraid to keep tightening it, because i dont want to strip it. does this need a copper washer as well, because the old one didnt have one and it didnt take any force to loosen it.
should i use something else on threads? 5min job from hell
Its the one next to ecu temp sensor. the little one with male spade sticking out.r34 gtr wrote:Uuuh, maybe use more teflon tape? Its the temp sensor on the lower manifold, right?
threads look str8 i havent done anything excessive on it. sensor looks good too. does it need a copper washer like the ecu temp sensor?boost_boy wrote:Hope you didn't crack it or strip the threads because they don't leak and I've never put teflon tape on either one of the two sensors. No it doesn't. I've never seen one of them things leak. I just went and looked at all of mine and none of them are completely screwed-in. You may have to try teflon tape.splintercell wrote: does it need a copper washer like the ecu temp sensor?
a local mechanic recommended the same thing. i drove it all night and checked it @ random locations and she was good.float_6969 wrote:Teflon paste > Teflon tape (most of the time)
