Ok after hearing all the stories about snapping brass tees and stripping out the idiot light hole, I've decided to remote mount the sending units for my oil pressure/temp gauges. Please let me know if you see any problems with this setup:

(Block ------> Sending Units)- SPLParts.com 1/8 BSPT male to -4AN male adapter from (looks brass) http://www.splparts.com/Parts/...t.asp- Earl's Fittings Anodized Aluminum -4AN female straight Auto-Fit hose end http://store.summitracing.com/...04ERL- Earl's Fittings Auto-Flex -4AN stainless braided hose (about 18") http://store.summitracing.com/...04ERL- Earl's Fittings Anodized Aluminum -4AN female straight Auto-Fit hose end- Earl's Fittings Anodized Aluminum -4AN Male to 1/8 NPT male adapter http://store.summitracing.com/...04ERL- Earl's Fittings Anodized Aluminum 1/8 NPT female to 1/8 NPT female to 1/8 NPT female Tee http://store.summitracing.com/...01ERL- Oil pressure/temp gauge sending units w/ 1/8 NPT male fittings

I'll mount the tee/units to the passenger side strut tower. This way I should have no worries about anything breaking from vibration and killing my engine or turbo. The Earl's stainless hose is rated at 1500 psi and 300 F degrees.

Please let me know what you think. All of the Earl's stuff is avaliable from summitracing.com which is a good website with fast shipping.

I like your setup, but are you using mechanical sending units or electrical for your gauges? Electrical would be preferred if your mounting your gauges on the drivers side. I know with any mechanical gauage they lose accuracy after running that pressure line so far.

Good setup though, I might do this when I get my new dash gauge pod for my oil guages, post some pics or even better...do a writeup =D

The gauges are electric, so it will just be wires traveling to the gauge pod on my dash.

Does it matter for the oil temp that there won't be oil flowing past the sensor? Or will the oil temp eventually just warm up inside the hose enough to give me an accurate reading?

I'd say that just like boost, the closer to ther engine that it is being monitored the better but it shouldn't matter too much.

Woah, so your oil temp sensor is on the outside of the hose? If its a rubber hose you might be loosing about 20 degrees off your temperature. If you want a real accurate reading I would definitely have it making contact with some flowing oil.

So where would be a good place to mount the temp sensor? bung in oil pan?

my first choice, or between the block and turbo inlet line if you want to adapt the fittings

BUMP anyone else?

Oh yeah, another question:

I thought I read somewhere that the oil pressure sending unit had to be mounted vertically or horizontally or something. I've seen pictures of it mounted both ways, can anyone clarify? I'm guessing vertically would make more sense...
