Gauge lights don't work

ok so i just got my 240 back (yay) and i forgot that from the time i purchased it that the gauge lights don't work. The idiot lights like the oil light, washer fluid light, seat belt, etc all work...but the back lights for my speedometer, tach, gas gauge, and coolant temp don't work.

I looked at the labels for all of the fuses & relays in all 3 fuse boxes and couldn't pinpoint one that sounded like it would control them. So now i'm thinking it could be wiring....

Tonight I'm going to just say ****it and pull every single fuse one at a time and see if it's blown just to run down the list, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Let me know what you find. Mine used to work, then began flickering, now no longer work. All my little red info lights work, but not the ones that light up the cluster. Do your HVAC lights work?

nope, my HVAC lights are dead as well....haven't looked to see if the selector lights for the HVAC work or not, but i doubt it

did your taillights go out too? if so then check the fuse under the dash on the drivers side. Check all the fuses twice. Its happened to me now twice... Goodluck -Shaun

nope, my tails & all exterior lights work fine...so does my dome light, and all of the idiot lights...even the indicators on the dash for the blinkers work

i wonder if it could possibly be the dimmer switch has gone out?

that or maybe the headlight switch?

My tails work as well. My HVACs will work every once in awhile, and the dimmer switch work when they do. I have checked every fuse and they are all fine. I suspect there is a wiring fault in there, but since I can't seem to find any schematics for the wiring for the gauges, I don't know what does what.

they're all in the FSMs....i have one, but no idea how to read a wiring diagram, and no scanner to get you a copy

basically, check that white box stashed on the driver side kick panel... from my/other member's experiences, a solder point in the circuit board will blow 1st before the dimmer switch does... it was weird, but it worked for me when I pryed it open & soldered the broken joint back together...

now I got rid of the ghetto lights i rigged up; yay

i finally decided to use the search button for this last night, and i found/read all of those posts right before i crash landed into bed....i just happen to have 2 extra TCU/TCM's laying around, so i'm gonna try that tonight either on my lunch break, or after i get off of work

I popped mine open and it looks just fine. Nothing seems burned or anything.

i put in the spare one that i had, and badda bing badda boom....we have lights :D:D

Someone's replaced the outside two dash lights with red bulbs, and the middle one is still clear....very odd, something is gonna HAVE to be done about that

rico, u may have some wiring issues then...

got an aftermarket radio? hope u didn't tap into the illumination circuit; that is 1 possibility... then again, u said it was working, then gradually die out on u... mebbe a cluster problem, if u r sure the white box works???

new problem...of the three gauge lights, the previous owner replaced the outside two with red bulbs, but the center one is still a white one....so you get a gradually fading color from red to white then back to red
