Unfortunately, your assumption is false. all gauge illumination in the Versa is done via LED's. They are integrated and soldered, no easy way to replace them. We already had one member try to do what you want and ended up ruining his gauges, so they didn't work at all (and it took a month or so for Nissan to get a replacement). Mind you, this member also knew what he was doing, so in order for him to cause that damage leads me to believe that the scope of this project is a lot more in depth and difficult than it looks on the surface.
If you truly want to go ahead, I would suggest purchasing an extra gauge cluster and having THAT sent off to a professional to have it done. Once it is verified done and working, then take your gauge cluster out and replace it. This is further complicated if you can't transfer the old odometer to the new cluster... you'd then need to contact your state's motor vehicle division and file paperwork for odometer rollback.
Or, as a simpler plan, ditch the blue LED's and install orange ones. Or live with it the way it is.
