Gauge info...

after i installed my e-fan, i'd really like to know how well my engine is doing temp wise, but my stock gauge just seems to go up to a little under the middle and stop. i can drive all day, stop and go and even push it a little, and the gauge will not move. so, i know they're electronic gauges and that means they have a sending unit and a power source. so, if this is true, could i use those two parts to power another temp gauge, one that i know isnt bad. and also, if im just looking for maybe and OP and OT, and ET gauge, would autometer be ok? I know Delfi makes a damn good DIN set with all three, but i dont have that much change.
