gauge cluster warning lights randomly come on

ok so i was driving home from work and i turned a corner i heard a weird crackling noise and my light flicked and then my battery, e-brake,and seat belt light came on. and my gauge lights are permanetly dimmed. its running the same as it always has. so what could cause this? a short somwhere? idk i just wanted to get some ideas about where to start before i tear into the dash harness.

Try these steps:
1. Pull up to release clips and remove cluster lid A.
2. Remove screws from combination meter using power tool or screw driver.
-Disconnect electrical connectors.
-Remove combination meter.
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
