ok so i've been searching and coming up with stuff but i cant put any of it together. i thought i read on here a little while ago that if you have a 90 or 89 s13, the gauge cluster wont work with the sr20.. is that true? i went to pull off my gauge cluster from the front clip then from my 89 s13 and the harness plugs dont match. can someone just make sense of all of it for me? thanks

Oi...It's not the cluster itself, it's the tachometer. The single cam KA has a different tach signal than the dual cam KA and SR. Just swap the tach from the SR cluster you have into your US cluster.

Even than, I just swapped a JDM cluster this week, and it should be a direct plug in. You can also just remove the tach itself, but can you take a pic of the JDM unit??

JDM Cluster will work directly with sr swap, otherwise use stock cluster and jdm tach, very simple. Sometimes tachs and odos stop working too.
