Gauge Cluster LED change / removal

Hi pplz, anyone had luck in changing the LED in your Gauge Cluster? I have managed to take out the cluster unit but when i tried pulling out the gauge needles, I couldn't pull it out. I know that the lights on the gauges (amber) are emitted from the LEDs (surface mounted type) that were soldered on the PCB board and i had to remove and change the LED. Before i do that, the needles are getting in my way. Anyone can advise if the needles are 'pullable'?
