Redline on tach? I can't remember what either one is but I believe it is different from E vs. DE.

One difference is tach, both visually (DOHC redline is higher) and electrically (SOHC tach will not work with DOHC engine.) The speedo is the same except for the markings, on the SOHC cluster it goes to 115 stopping on the 5s (35, 45, etc.) and the DOHC speedo it goes to 110 stopping on the 10s (30,40, etc.) Also, the SOHC cluster I saw didn't have a check engine light (it was a base model if that makes a difference,) it might have had the circuit for it, just no marks on the panel. Otherwise they should be compatable.

and the HUD and analog have different sized gauges, too... my dohc analog tach didn't swap right into my sohc hud cluster, had to swap faces and needles.

funny thing, i just swapped the two before i read this thread.

my sohc hud tach went into my dohc cluster no prob, but not the other way around like andrave said. you could snip a little off the dohc tach to make it fit though lol

hey andrave, did you have any problems with the needle sticking after you swapped needles ?
