check all of your fuel lines and carbon canister for leaks, then the fuel injectors and fuel rail. check the exhaust system for leaks(allow car to run at idle and look for condensation drops on the ground will help) exhaust popping is probably due to too much back pressure, running rich maybe? not too sure on that one

maybe running to rich..if theres an exhaust leak thats major it may cause your 02sensors to read lean and then cause the car to run rich...check your exhaust...catalytic converter...then check your sensors...

i have no catalytic converter and my exhaust pops when at low rpm's and decellerating at the same time (usually with no load on the engine). i think it's normal if you don't have a cat. but other than that...do what these guys are suggesting. leaks, running rich, sensors...

you can adjust timing, throttle body etc. etc. but i just put an O2 sensor in and i find after 100+ km/h i read rich anyways. although i am running a short cai.

Don't forget coolant temp sensor as a culprit too - car will run too rich if it doesn't read the proper temperature from the sensor.

I was running rich as a skunk and had tons of bogging down, went to Nissan, got a $28 sensor and had it replaced in 5 minutes, runs perfect.
