Has anyone had experience in cutting/making a copper gasket for a turbo???
I picked up a 12" x12" sheet section of 24oz copper today at rose metal supply......
I hoping the thickness will work fine..... we'll see....
The semi-metal asbestos style gasket that I port-matched to the tubular manifold blew out in the sr-20 car while on track.....
Fire blowing in the engine bay instead of out the muffler is Never good.....
I DON'T want that to happen again!
I picked up some metal punches to use w/the shop press at Grizzly today as well........ to punch out the bolt holes with
If anyones done this before with copper - or other metals on turbo exhaust inlet or outlet gasket applications.......
Please post what you used and your results.....
I'm throwing the car back together for a month or 2 untill I can afford the top mount manifold and turbo set-up that the car truly deserves.......
post up your info if anyones got any.....
thanks!
