gasket sealing questions?? PLEASE HELP

So i have two oil leaks one from my oil pan and the other from my valve cover gasket i was wondering is there a gasket for the oil pan or do we use gasket maker, and what kind of gasket maker.

For the valve cover im wondering what type of seal do you use and where do you apply the seal??

Please help i have a blacktop s13 sr20

You use RTV silicon for the oil pan and make absolutely certain it is all dry before filling it with oil again. You can get good quality RTV from Nissan or just use the auto shop stuff. There is a gasket for the valve cover that I am sure you have so just apply RTV to the cam lobe areas. basically in the semi-circles that go into the head at the front and back of the engine, 4 spots.

ya you can get "right stuff" rtv at any any auto parts store. thats what i use at work, and ive never had a problem with it. make sure to let it dry for at least a half hour before filling with oil

Yeah oil pan is liquid gasket and when I did my valve cover I applied a thin layer of it all the way around the head, but I think you only really need it in the half moon things
