i had a small leak at the compressor outlet flange (maybe causing whining?)..i just went out and used Ultra Black RTV Silicone gasket maker in place of a new one. Thoughts?

We tried using that on my friends down pipe and under the high temp. it cracked and blew out within a couple of days.I recommend getting a new gasket as soon as your finances permit...http://www.frsport.com/Turbo-Gasket_c_197.html

If you have a air compressor and some plumbing fitting you can make a boost leak tester pretty easy.
