Gas tank repair in a '95 240SX

A friend of mine woke up this morning to her gas tank leaking on the garage floor. As far as she can tell it has some small hole in it. She has been told that it would cost $1200 to replace the gas tank, but another friend of hers says it would be a relatively easy job to patch it. What we don't know is any place here in Atlanta that can do the repair, and what exactly would be involved with patching the gas tank. If anyone knows the type of repair is needed so we could do some calling around, or better yet a place here in Atlanta that can do the repair, we would greatly appreciate it.

If I'm not mistaken, most auto part places sell a putty that is designed specifically for this problem. Or, I'm sure someone has one laying around. Send me an email to [email protected]. I have a friend in Atlanta that can probably set you up with a used one.

I have one that I will let go for cheap. Im located in L.A though. Just a thought.
