If you can't afford your SR why keep it? KA it and stick with 89.

fully strip your car, remove a/c, fan, and power steering. Only way to get better mpg.

Turbo cars should never be ran with mid to low grade gas. It's just common sense when dealing with forced induction.

You gotta pay to play.

TBH I ran my SR with 89 once and had absolutely ZERO issues. That was on stock compression and boost and not even hitting boost. I'm not advocating running lower octanes but if you just put put around and stay out of boost you could *probably* get away with 89, but I ask, is it worth risking a $2000 motor for maybe $1-$2 save at the pump?

You an sneak away with using low octane gas for short trips if you stay off boost or only on low boost. The only time I could ever say "Sure, go ahead and put low or mid grade in" is if that's ALL that's available, you literally pushed your car to the station, and you have somewhere to be 15 minutes ago.

like the other guy said, you spend literally maybe 2/3$ more on 93. Quick story, had a perfect running KA-T t25 set up, friend had taken it that day to drive places and what not. Im a good friend so I let him borrow my car while im at work. He brings it back to me with a full tank of gas, wow cool. Boosting it at 10, im driving around then boom detonation, sounds like machine gun fire. He had put 87 in it, blew the motor. dumb ***.

where i live the difference between 91 and 89 in only 20 cents. our tanks are about 12 gallans, so i figure out about a dollar and fourty cents extra you spend on better gas. its not worth all the money you spent on your motor and car to blow it for $1.40. thats just my two cents.
