ok im kinda gettin sick of this i have a 90 240sx sohc k&n air filter, headers, highflow cat 2.5" exhaust. im tryin to figure out why my car is eating gas. i can barely get 200 miles to a tank full. im pretty sure this isnt normal. my ecu isnt putting out any codes so im pretty much confused. anyone got any ideas? i just recently changed my fuel filter, and plugs if that helps.

Time for a tune-up, decarbonize your TB, check for oil leaks, check your filters, etc etc etc

If you have trouble figuring out what carbon deposits are....can't wait till you put in those turbo parts.

What "turbo parts" are you putting in?

not quite sure im still researching the turbo set up but im aiming to get 250 or 300hp. I basically wanna get my gas issue settled before i go buying anything else. I asked what decarbonizing was cuz ive never heard of TB cleaner refered to as that. What I want to know is how is it that carbon gets into the TB.

Carbon deposits are everywhere, inside your valves, cylinder walls, exhaust components. Wipe your fingers on the throttle body walls when you take the hose off, also wipe your throttle plate with a bounty towel...the black stuff.

Its also a byproducts of burning gas.

250 to 300HP on the SOHC is going to cost a few dollars.

might check your 02 sensors. They won't throw a code on the ecu unless they completely stop working, in the meantime they may have built of crap on them that is causing a false reading to your ecu.

I get 380 miles on a full tank. Never ran it completely out but my guess is i only had maybe 5 miles left if that. Been running with fuel light on for 20 miles or so.

Carbon gets in there from your EGR system and PVC system. Might want to check your fan clutch.
