I just wanted to know if this is normal: 1) My ca18det gas gauge needle went from 1/4 tank to E in just 7.6km or 4.7 miles. what type of gas milege do you get from your ca18det.

2) Also my speedometre only works when i'm going fast. if i'm not going over thirty the needle stays on 0km/h anyone know what could be causing this. 3) I cleaned my engine with gunk engine cleaner and WD40. after i sprayed it on the engine and drove it started to smoke from where the turbo is what could be causing this.

4) What would happen to my engine if water got in my intake what would it do to it.

hope their is someone who can answer all of those questions.

1) sending unit mite be bad? leaking gas??? did it go back up after? i noticed wen i drove hard with my ka the gas would go down but then wen i drove regular it would bounce back up2)speed sensor??? (its on the transmission)3) that was most likely just the stuff u used to clean the engine that was burning off the turbo/manifold4) its called hydro lock, engine seizes up

1.. what originalsin said plus if you have a walbro or otherwise bigger than stock fuel pump good chance you're overfueling from the stock FPR being a weaksauce POS, get a Nismo unit. Also, bad knock/det sensor, O2 and water temp sensors can make it run bad, not to mention if you've put in bigger injectors w/o a retune etc.2.. my stock KA cluster did that for awhile, then stopped altogether. it may be the cluster itself, or like originalsin said the sender. try whacking the dash above the cluster really good, that used to temporarily fix mine.. 3.. ditto, that smoke is just the crap you sprayed on it burning off4.. small amounts don't matter other than momentarily, if it was bad you'd know (hydro lock is baaaaad, you'd know if it happened)

Turns out i'm really getting better gas milage than i thought because i found out today that my speedometre and my km counter go off and on at the same time. Anyone have an idea of what might be causing this and how i could fix it.

probably the speedo itself it its intermittent. like I said, try whacking the dash above it when its not working

easiset thing to do is just get a good speedo and swap it out and see if it fixes it.
