Gas smell

I have 92 Maxima, Ihave a gas smell But no gas leek ,is there any link to the gas tank ???????:help

I would think that if you have a gas smell, ther eis a leak somewhere. It may be small...it could just be vapors that are leaking.

Can you tell where the gas smell is coming from? Under the hood? Inside the car? Outside of the car after you park?

I had a loose clamp on a hose under the hood and it stank of gas while driving, but if you shut the engine off there is no pressure in the fuel lines to see where the leak is comming from, try looking for he leak with the engine running.

My 240 had the smell of gas in the cabin when I was driving as well. The leak was actually coming from a rubber hose that runs from the gas tank to the filler hole. I had a hole in the rubber hose that was causing gas to leak from it and it leaked enough to cause a stench in the cabin of the car. After that, I replaced all my fuel hoses and replaced the o-ring on my gas sender unit since they were all pretty worn out.

if you smell it in the car while the car is in motion it is coming from under the hood. likely an injector or the fuel pressure feed line.
