Gas Smell 95 J30t in drivers side frame rail.

While doing the 2 minute transmission fluid change last night, Sliding past the drivers side frame rail (I think thats what its called) I smell gas strongest from the holes in the rail below the back door. How do you get acces to the fuel line inside of there? There is no dripping just a gas smell.
