Only thing worse than $3/gal. gas is no gas.

Reminds me of an 80's song called "Freeze A Yankee."

Refrain was "Drive 75 and freeze 'em alive!"

This is reminding me of the 70s all over again! Though I wasn't old enough to drive, I remember people pushing there cars off the Palos Verdes cliffs to collect on insurance.

Given the current situation, it smelling much the same. I don't doubt we are headed for using up all our oil in the not to distant future but by simple supply and demand would dictate that if oil was indeed scarce the proffit margin would not be so great as it currently is.

The oil business is like the tech/NASDAQ for the current times. I wish that like my dad, I had invested in oil!!!

Premium up here in Edmonton Canada is $1.18 per litre. So you do the math. I tired of you guys down south complaining how expensive your gas is when up here we have probably the most oil in the world and we export all of it to you guys. Then you sell it back to us for more . I still haven't been able to figure it out.

True... but it's hard once you're used to something even if at inflated prices it's still a good deal. But the again, you don't have our health insurance/prescription costs. How are your tax rates?

Canadian taxes suck. Theres no free lunch, they may have cheaper healthcare but the taxpayers just pay for that too!

You don't even want to know our tax rates. They range from 0% (under $13500 gross income for the year) to around 37.5%. Thats just the income tax. I was making $100000 per year and then took home $62000. Now that sounds like a lot of money but the food up here is more expensive. Our property taxes just went up (I pay $3000 per year) the gas went up, our natural gas is $9 per gigajoule (we got ****ed on the free trade deal by the US) oh and on top of that we have a 7% GST tax on everything you buy. Money for money you guys down south get more for it. I guess I should stop complaining but **** man its hard not to.

That (how much you are taxed - 37.5% for that amount of income) sounds about on par down here as well. Don't make enough to take advantage of the tax loopholes down here - maybe one day!
