yes! i've had that same problem too! last wednesday, i was filling up and the pump shut off on me three times. i thought it was the pump but if other people are having this problem then it might very well be the car... why does it shut off like that anyway?stsxcrle wrote:Just checking to see if anyone else has had problems fueling up with the coupe. Multiple times at one gas station I've had the pump stop pumping fuel well before I have a full tank, no matter what angle I hold the nozzle at, the pump kicks off very prematurely. I haven't had this problem anywhere else, but wondering if it's just that station or if others have had problems as well.

That's funny that you guys are mentioning this because just yesterday i filled up at a shell station and it cut off right exactly at 50 bucks and my tank was still not filled up. My gauge displayed slightly below the F....Sorry almost didn't mention that i own the sedan so i guess both the coupe and the sedan are having the same problem...................mgamino wrote:Hey Mad, now that I remembered... the last time I tried to fill up it stopped at 50 bucks exactly no joke. Did you guys with the $50 shut-off prepay with credit card? It would not surprise me that some cards or stations have an automatic $50 cut-off. I experienced it at $100 numerous times last year with my moving van, multiple states (KY, AR, TN). All I had to do was shut off the pump, wait a minute, and restart (swipe the card again).SpecAltima07 wrote:

Heh, it's only illegal in states where they don't think the general public is smart enough to use a gas pump. My friend went to Oregon and tripped out cuz he couldn't fill up his own tank of gas.LongBeachCoupe wrote:not that anyone cares... but i think its illegal for anyone other than a station employee to "lock" the nozzle into flowing... mind you i used to shove a pack of smokes in there to get it to do that... its still "illegal"....
Every state has it's own laws. Here in Hawaii, we have to pump our own gas, so you can imagine how it was when I was in NY last year and started pumping my own gas. The worker came running out like I killed his grandmother or something. I was shocked to learn that I wasn't allowed to pump my own gas. BTW here in Hawaii, none of our gas stations have the locking lever on the nozzle. We have to sit there and hold the thing until it's filled up. What a pain in the rear!LongBeachCoupe wrote:not that anyone cares... but i think its illegal for anyone other than a station employee to "lock" the nozzle into flowing... mind you i used to shove a pack of smokes in there to get it to do that... its still "illegal"....
Haha, wow. That's weird how places differ like that. I heard some pumps back east also allow you to pump before you pay. Here in Cali, hah, not a chance.generic808 wrote: Here in Hawaii, we have to pump our own gas, so you can imagine how it was when I was in NY last year and started pumping my own gas. I wonder if it is only special areas in NY, since my in-laws live in Buffalo and when we drove there I always pumped my own gas.generic808 wrote:
