I'm having some issues trying to figure out why I have go full throttle on my 97 maxima to get any acceleration. it seems like the gas pedal only travels a couple centimeters and i have to floor it for any throttle response. Overall she drives fine for having 180000 miles but it's getting annoying having to floor the all the time to get half the power I know she's capable of. Any advice will be appreciated

From what you have described, I would check your throttle cable on it. With that kind of mileage it may be stretched and could need adjustment or replacement.

Check for codes &try to see if the throttle position sensor works
You can use a multimeter and check for voltage and resistance as well
