I have a 97 Q45 with about 125K. Since I bought the car (with about 60K) I have been battling a sticky gas pedal. I have taken the springs out of the pedal assembly and the throttle linkage, cleaned them and applied lithium grease. It will work for a few days then return to sticking. It will only stick when trying to push down initially (from a stop). Is there a bushing somewhere that I am missing or could be a known problem?

I fixed my sticky pedal by just cleaning the throttle bodies real well.

make sure your floormat isnt sliding up into the mechanism. ( i dont know if the q45 floormats have fasteners like the J30), but i had that problem on an old car..tried lubricating everything for weeks until i realized it was just the mat.

you could also try pulling the throttle cable from the engine compartment (especially if the problem is in the first degrees of predal action like you say) this might reveal a loose cable, or something on that end of the mechansim that is sticking. Like mayhem said, cleaning the TBs might do it.
