Awesome, I can completely confirm this from my driving yesterday.ShadowAC wrote:yeah the click is to downshift in manual mode, does nothing for automatic
and also no matter what the car will upshift at the red line in either case

However, for safety reasons, even if you push past the click, most of the regulations for car safety will not allow WOT until you reach 40 MPH. So up until that speed, you're only getting 95% WOT. Why you ask? Dealers don't want to fix your blown motor.
In manual mode, pushing past the click will automatically downshift the car. In automatic mode, the car will find the most efficient sweet spot for the car with the current throttle input.
I discovered the click racing an Impala SS. I have an 08 Coupe 3.5CVT. The look on the guys face as I slowly pulled ahead of his V8 was pretty priceless.
Haha so now I don't completely regret not buying the manual, CVT does have its perksXenonSE-R wrote:The click is like an override of sorts - it pushes you to full WOT in the CVT.
Manual guys - you don't have the clicky gas pedal. It is a CVT-only thing.

I don't know if this will answer your question or not but WOT is basically flooring it all the way down. I didn't think twice about that click, thought it was something stupid that keeps you from flooring your car. When I was in manual mode one time, there were 3 trucks near me and I felt a bit claustrophobic so I floored it, not hitting the clicker but I wasn't going fast enough and depressed it all the way and I lost the manual mode basically. It happened at the track as well, except I wasn't in manual mode. I did the quarter mile in 15.1 sec because I didn't depress the gas all the way down (hitting the click), I just depressed it to the point where my foot was literally on the verge of the click. The second run was VERY different, I floored it all the way down (WOT), pass the clicker until the pedal was resting on the carpet and hit a 14.5 sec. Yea, it made a huge fudgen difference! I forgot to warm up my tires but when I did, my best was a 14.3-14.4 I think (OEM Turanzas btw). Hope this was in your questions ballpark...you know you're at WOT when your car is loud as hell.Is that in the (owner's) manual? I'm just curious as to where this wide open throttle term comes from and if it's legit
Im happy with my CVT, i mean i haven't driven a manual unfortunately so im sure someone who has would have a much different opinon, but as far as im concerned i think its very good for what it is, it is usually very smooth as nissan claims, has a good warranty on it and the manual mode really lets you play around with it, especially if you have the v6 model. Obviously the manual mode wont be able to completely emulate the feel of a true 6 speed but i still prefer driving in that mode than in D most of the time.iamjon86 wrote:Haha so now I don't completely regret not buying the manual, CVT does have its perksXenonSE-R wrote:The click is like an override of sorts - it pushes you to full WOT in the CVT.
