So my gas light works (i think?) but my needle does not. I just bought the the car a couple of weeks ago and this is the most major problem I've had. Still runs perfect but I'd like to know when I need some fuel. Its a 93, N/A, 5-speed.

Look behind your driver seat, pop the middle section carpet up, youll see a plate with a few bolts on it. Under it is your fuel pump. Check the float, and more importantly, there is a potentiometer that could be either worn out or broken. The little metal looking thing is supposed to touch the thingey with the numbers. If the thnigey with the numbers is worn down, or they dont touch, you can contact me at [email protected], I can sell you a fuel pump assembly for cheap. If the\ above checks out, you have a short/cut sumwhere in teh wiring, or you have a cluster issue. Do fuel pump first, then swap clusters.

the low fuel light is also triggered by that same sender, either it's fgot a dead spot, the gauge is bad

the third option is if some monkey swapped guages faces they might have simply put the needle on wrong or damaged the gauge in the process
