I have a 1990 nissan 240sx with a 2.4 single cam. When I turn on the car gas mixes with oil and smokes alot. I drain the oil and flush it all out and it did it again. Any ideas anybody thanks for your HELP....................... And when I check the oil you can see the oil mixes with something gray and smells like gasolin................... P.S. The smoke is white but the head has been rebuilt and new head gasket and it smells like gas a alot................

new piston rings??....if they are worn bad enough with every stroke of the piston, it will lap a film of oil on the cylinder wall that will burn off with every combustion stroke.

If gas is mixing with the oil...obviously changing the oil wont help, its just going to mix with it again, theres a problem that needs to be corrected first....

gas is not gray, but if you mix coolant with oil you will get a chocolate milky color might be what your talking about, cause of that is a blown head gasket or a cracked block or a cracked head or a hole in your timing chain cover around the water jackets. What color is the smoke?blue is oil burning, white is coolant mixing in the combustion chamber, black is running to rich. Be more specific when you post on here. Like saying when i turn on the car gas mixes with oil and smokes alot, do you mean when its running and tell us what color the smoke is. You will get more replies when you take the time to inform us of your problem .

I had this problem, and after many hours of testing compression and cussing, it turned out to be the CTS (coolant Temperature sensor) located in the top of the intake manifold. It had a bad connector and the resistance reading that I got from it did not match anywhere near the new one that I had bought for the hell of it. This was causing my car to run rich and put so much gas in the cylinders gas was passing past the valve seals into the oil. Farfetched I know but true.

As I have said a compression test can tell you a lot!! Good luck!!
