Gas Mileage to Empty Glitch?!

So I was almost on empty, digital display said roughly 16 miles. I put in about half a tank and the actually gas gauge dial seems to be working fine, but now the digital display not only didnt update but now shows its empty or low and flashing on the display.

Anyone ever had this on their Infiniti?
