This is NOT a gay thread about how to increase gas mileage ;) , but I want to hear some mileages. I picked up my 240 from getting the clutch fixed on Tuesday (which shifts good BTW) and filled up with 91 octane. Anyway I drive like a dumbass everywhere I go, flooringit all the time. Anyway between givign it a little gas to start in the cold *** morning and driving liek a dummy, I managed 58 miles on a half tank of gas!!!! NOw I know that is mostly me, but could tere be something mechanical. I decided to drive like a granny for the other half tanka nd see what it gets me

Haha, sounds like an O2 sensor gone bad. If it was not firing on all cylinders (ie. no spark), then you'd feel a noticable lack of power.

It feels to me that I have not lost any power. Should I change the O2 sensor and see. I guess I can...not a bad maintenane item. Plus I am about to change the fule filter fos ****s and giggles. I thought even with my speed everywhere driving, I would get more than 58 miles on a half tank of gas. So I am going to drive like a granny and see. BUt I'll look into the O2 sensor as well. I have to give the car some gas in the morning to get it to start. It is so damn cold here. But my Altima starts right up...go figure.

could be a wacky gas gauge. 58 miles from what, 7 gallons? I think the car would smoke a bit from running that rich all the time. also, pull your plugs and see what kind of shape they are in. Glad to hear you got it running again! back to burnouts with the E brake or have you learned your lesson?!? lol just givin ya ****, man!

hmmmmmmmm good question. My current odometer I am not 100% on. My old one didnt work at all........but I filled up on Tuesday. Yesterday was Thursday and I daily drove it to work all week. Maybe 5 miles round trip including lunch. And then the drive I posted about earlier. I think "downtown" is maybe 20 miles or so roundtrip. I am going to check the plugs this weekend...actually switch them out. Also check the ECu for any codes thrown...

Doesnt Night claim like 30mpg on his RB25DET? I'm curious as to what kind of MPG you guys with S13s and RB engines are getting.

I found this thread under a search and I want to bring the topic back up. I find my RB25 is eating up gas really fast. I am running stock boost and I know yesterday I only got 100KM to half a tank! That's about 60 miles. So 8-9 MPG is pretty bad IMO. What are other seeing for Gas milage?

If your 02 sensor was malfunctioning you would have more noticeable probems. If you're concerned about it though you can always have it tested with an oscilloscope to see how it's response time looks. If you're not throwing a CEL though then it's within the computers perameters - meaning you should probably look elsewhere first.

If your car is running like a dog though, pull and inspect the plugs first is what I'd do. After that I'd verify engine timing then inspect/test the coil packs.

If you never fix the prob though you can always just turn the boost up [/joke]

**** when i had the 20 I was getting like 100 miles or so to a tank. Never bothered to do any research or troubleshooting because my clutch WENT out AGAIN AND the Trubo went out so I sold it. First thing I would is change your driving habits and see how it affects it. I was revving the **** out of my car EVEYWHERE I went. LOL

HE ALSO HAS AN AUTO.... SO ON AVERAGE THE MANUAL 20 SHOULD SEE 25-26 CITY/28-29 HIGHWAY.
