how in the earth you managed it?

I am brutal most of the time. I tried couple of times it was better. But I have a heavy foot.

Good job anyways. Lucky you.

It's hard to get up to 26 MPG...you have to resist the urge of spirited acceleration while doing 70-75 MPH at a constant speed on the freeway, not 80+. It can be done. If you really really try, you could push the G to 500 miles per tank on the highway (I've gotten to about 465 with a gallon or 2 left in the tank). You have to do this almost exclusively on road trips though.

how in the world do you do that...? Ony my Navi it says that I am getting average 16.9 MPG... Does that mean theres something wrong?? Anyone get such a shxtty MPG like I do...? I usually don't rev over 2000... I always shift right about 1800~2300... and I don't push it... Thats why I am so desperated to get an intake.. so I can at least get something better than 16.9....

If you're asking me, couldn't give you an average really...most of my driving is in town, so stop and go. On the trip that I got to 465 that was at just over 26 MPG--445 mile road trip one way, plus going to work the next day. It was really hard to do it, the hardest thing is to resist the urge of going faster (80+) or accelerating hard. Going the other way on the same road trip, I drove like I usually drive my G, had some fun with a Vette on the freeway, and was pulling 110 for a few miles a few times on the highway and I made it 50 miles from my destination and had to get gas (didn't calculate the MPGs).

As for you jlo, if you drive a lot in stop and go, its not always your acceleration but your braking, too. 17 is about right in stop and go for the G. I put the POP Charger on mine recently, haven't calculated anything yet...I'll let you know.

How did I do it??? I really don't know. My wife and daughter went on an 8 hour trip across NC to pick up a new puppy.I guess the trick is to keep me out of the driver's seat.

I'm addicted to the sound it makes when my foot goes thru the firewall!

I get about 20-21 in a combo of HW/City driving. My wife drives mainy in town and never sees 20 in hers (unless on a trip) Maybe 17-19.

We'll be taking both of the G's on a trip this summer, so I'm curious to see how they do. Both have Z-tubes, mine has a drop in K&N - soon to be changed out for a Pop-charger.

nothing wrong with your car it is the processor(brain) in your head. You are probably just like me. Can't resist to the feeling. I even tried aceton. You can get a little bit better mileage and better hp but not much.

Ha Ha She would screem. Wouldn't she? I drive my wife's car sometimes she always ask not push it to hard. Yeah right. .....Honey I promise you...... 2 Evil smile on my face .... She says ..... I don't believe you.....ha ha ha . She did not give me her car for the brake in period. Don't blame on her. Make sense how you managed to get that milage. Man those #'s not realistic for me not with my driving habit. I will never see milage like that. Not even in the damn hybrid car. Oh well. I knew that before I bought the G it won't happen.

yeah i have a black coupe, and down here where i live, everyone who has a g35 either: 1) doesn't drive it... 2) babys it, as in drive it nice and slow 3) is test driving one and eventually not going to buy it. So when I drive my car, its a sight to be seen; and you can imagine what my gas mileage is like already. To top it off there are a lot (and when i say a lot... i mean A LOT! The ricer to nice car ratio is like 15:1) of ricey hondas that like to play around. I mean alot of people see a kid my age in G, they think that its some run of the mill rich kid in daddy's car that doesn't know how to drive... so when they mess with me haha i mess with them twice as hard...

so yeah with all that said, i'm pretty sure my gas mileage rivals that of a lamborghini haha...

Yeah, normally I drive hard unless I'm on a cruise downtown to let people look. Just that on this trip I decided to push the car a different way, granted it was really hard not to succumb to the G. Don't take my post the wrong way guys haha

To jlo, I calculated the MPGs with my JWT/Z-tube and I drive mostly in downtown (no higher than 45) too and I think I shift at a little higher point than you do because I tend to push it sometimes downtown or anywhere. MPGs came out to 19.91 (249.7 mi on 12.54 gal) with some A/C. Although this time around I spent a little more time on the highway than usual. So you do have a bit of room to improve with an intake.

I'm a another Atlanta driver and have been getting around 18-21. Normal driving for me is as fast as possible until some stupid f#ck in a honda decides the fast lane is a good place to go 65. I seriously should be allowed to shoot people as I pass them in the HOV lane when it happens.

i feel exactly the same, wish it was legal. i feel it's also partly cause the rediculous 55 speed limit throughout all highways. i feel your pain though man. i don't wanna be a thread hijacker but you should check the southeast forums sometime too if you don't already.

i wish i had 26mpg. in my M im averaging about 17.1mpg and its definitely related to my heavy foot. not always a smart move from going to a mpg friendly honda into a not so friendly performance car, i guess i will learn over time.

Now don't be getting down on Honda drivers. When I had a 70 hp Civic, I had no trouble outrunning most traffic. What you drive is less important than how you drive it.

Yea when I bought mine, last year people asked me they thought it is a small v8. I am sure with the stillen or fujita exhaust it would be even better.

Wow... that's great!!

I wish I could get close to that. The best I have gotten so far is about 22, on a long distance trip. At home I have the horrible combination of lots of in town, high traffic driving, using the e-shift, and a heavy foot. With an aftermarket exhaust, I wanna hear it sing!!

The best octane I can find in the LA area is 91.

26 mpg on the highway is not unusual. I get 25-26 mpg on the highway everytime I drive from Dallas to NW Arkansas, which is about 5 or 6 times per year since buying the car 2 1/2 years ago.

My city mpg has gotten worse though. I use to get 19 in the city and now I get about 16.5 or 17 mpg. I am due in about 1,000 miles for the 30,000 mile service so I am hoping after that I will get improved city mpg but who knows.
