Yeah but look at the power of thoses smaller engines and factor in the fuel efficiency then the smaller engines of today are better.

Take in consideration the longevity of the modern engines (better I think) compared to old and I think we are lightyears ahead of the past. Although the old engines were easy to repair, remove and overhaul.

Those old pushrod chevy V8s last forever...... They are so simple, the only reason they dont last is people dont take care of them........ They probably last 200k in between overhauls......

Maybe, but they burn a quart of oil every 1500 miles from new from my experience.

So you add a quart...... No big deal...... Is the $2 for a quart of oil too much expense (they can run fine on about any oil)

The same thing applies to the northstar..... GM says that using 1qt every 2000 miles is OK....... The reason they do (and im not making this up) is because they have a really agressive oiling pattern....... WHich allows more oil to be used (not burnt).

I will check my city mileage when I fill next (not sure when that will be), but I am expecting about 15 with HARD city driving, and a clogged air filter and possibly fuel filter (dont worry boys, Im going to hit joe up in a little while)......
