unfortunately i cant say the same :S. driving on the highway today i can see its alittle of me, entering tollways i always floor it but at the same time i agree, i think it should be doing alittle better that what i'm getting. have you tried anything?InfinitiAndre wrote:Don't feel so bad, I only get 250 miles at MOST on a F to E tank.
I can't understand myself why the J costs so much money in gas! I drive normally, have an aftermarket intake for better air circulation and pump premium fuel always.
yeah! i plan on doing the redline thing, i think that will help alot and my mom agreed with you on the air filter thing, gonna check that out also.thanks for the advice!yodawill2000 wrote:Sounds kinda low to me ..Replace the Air filter lately ??Also picking up a bottle of Redline SL1 from Pep boys and Adding it to a 3/4 to full tank will do wonders !!It did to mine anyways.
damn man, 100??? lol I was pretty nervous doing my 80-85 heading from Texas City to Dallas but after awhile other cars followed suit and we were all averaging 85 X]. Cant go down alone... gotta have someone else matching my speed ;]J30inthe sun wrote:Last Christmas I drove from Ft Lauderdale to Tampa, 265 miles. I filled up the next day & calulated my mileage based on my trip odometer & gallons to fill back up full, going @ 70-75 mph the whole trip & it was @26 mpg. In 2003 I drove from Marathon FL to Tampa one a full tank, F to E with low fuel light on at the end, @380 mile but that was going on average 90 - 100 mph.
BTW @26 mpg is with 4 new Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge tires (215/60/15) with about 1,500 miles on them set at 29 psi cold. This is the 4th set of tires I have had for this car & I must says i like these the best so far.unlimited wrote:

90-100 would've had me nervous o.o do you get a lot of wind noise and vibration going that speed? I seem to get a lot, at least with wind...
yep, when i first purchased the car it was really bad, it would start at around 50mph, and a lot of people from tire shops said we needed new tires because they were old and all different sizes and to have them balanced. we got two new tires and it helped a loooot. i mean the vibration is only noticeable at around 60+ but its faint, though i can feel it shouldnt be there. my moms pushing me to get 4 new michelin tires but everytime i go to a tire shop and ask about them i get an answer that "they're overrated" so not sure...yodawill2000 wrote:if you get vibration up at those speeds you have something wrong !!!When I got my set of V rated tires awhile back it was smooth as silk up to about 120.Sounds like you have a tire or two outta balance.
i need weather stripping around my doors :S not sure if that is a do-it-yourself job or should i take it to Infiniti up the street.J30inthe sun wrote:

At 80 and above the wind noise becomes noticable. This last trip I am noticing a vibration that starts at @65 - 75 mph. I just had a new rack & pinion unit installed yesterday with new outer tie rod ends & rack mount bushings (@$840 including labor). They checked the ball joints (I think that's where the vibration is coming from) & the are shot, so on Monday I am doing new lower control arms (uhm... I think that makes every component in the front suspension brand new over the last 5 months).
I am at @115,000 miles now on my J30.
Several years ago I remember going @ 110-115 & everything was silky smooth.
