Gas Mileage and Roof Cross Bars

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I am considering the EX 35 but am wondering has anyone installed the cross bars? If so, would love to see pics of the cross bars. I haul a bike and a kayak and would be a deal breaker if I could not transport them. I am looking to downsize from my Touareg, but it appears that a trailer hitch is not viable or available for the bike rack. The other option is the roof.

Also, what kind of mileage are the owners getting and is it in line with the numbers on the sticker?

A few people have suggested that I add a question about the roof rack (none, factory, aftermarket small, aftermarket large) to my site's Fuel Economy Survey, and I might do so.

Until then, probably safe to assume about 0.5 MPG for the small factory rack. In my opinion it improves the appearance of the EX.
