Forgive me if there is already a thread - couldn't find on.

What is your gas mileage? I've monitored the first 5 fill-ups (had the Pathfinder about 2 months) and I am averaging 17.6 MPG. I drive about 60% HWY 40% City.

My 5 fill-ups were:
17.9 MPG
17.6 MPG
18.0 MPG
16.6 MPG
17.7 MPG

What are you getting?

On 4K miles of vacation last year I got 18.1. Normally I don't drive it much, I do calculate MPG but don't track it. Typically I'm 16.5-18. QX4, but same thing. I'm doing O2 sensors right now and hoping for a little boost.

On my '02 QX4 with 160K miles, I average about 18mpg going steady state 75mph most of the way. Although there are brief spurts of speeds above that :naughty:
Typical mileage varies between 17.6 and 18.4mpg for me in the warmer months. During the winter, gas mileage about drop to about 16.4-17.0mpg.

My commute is typically 15% city and 85% highway. Still haven't figured out how to get 20mpg outta her without stripping everything off.

:chuckle: Yep, that's my goal. I've done it on one tank.

The transmission lack of a 5th gear is a large factor -- even when new my LE was 16-18 at best ... gets less the first 10 miles in the winter. Having owned three -- don't spend time and money on parts thinking you will improve.

The poor MPG is more than offset by the reliability and low maintenance costs.

That's awesome! The highest I ever achieved on a tank of gas was doing steady 70mph on flat road and little to no wind at 90F outside. I got 19.2mpg.

It was at elevation, mostly 4K+, which helps. Out of 20 fillups on that trip though 5 of them were 19.5 or better, again, mostly at elevation or coming downhill. But there were also some low ones from 4WD times, construction etc. Moderate speeds for the most part although some of the 20.2 had some 80MPH speed limit time on it. Just got the new O2 sensors in yesterday so I'm hoping for a little boost from replacing the 135K ones.

My '03 QX4 with 114k is getting around 13 mpg in San Francisco. SF is probably the worst possible city/mpg scenario with all the stop and go and hills.

Did two days of highway driving getting it back from where I bought it and was getting a little over 18 mpg.

dang, my 2002 4WD QX4 averages 13-14. Mixed city and highway. Has new spark plugs, MAF, tires, proper alignment. New Shocks, struts, and springs are next to go on... Maybe it's time to change both diff fluids. Any ideas how to improve my Fuel mileage?
