What gas milage is everybody getting with the Z22 gasoline engine. I'm getting 22/27 on a 2wd king cab 215/65/15 tires 3.89 rear 5 spd man. It that about avg? I'd like to know what the epa rating was if anybody knows.

Thankyou.

I was usually getting around 26 in my 2wd king cab, (which is also a Z22) with just commuting through town, and i once got 30 on a long trip, even with bad plugs and such.

That's pretty much my numbers too....on one rare trip I hit 30mpg, 23-25 typical around town driving. Stock tires, 5 speed manual.

It does make a difference, and that is acceptable mileage.

How big a difference does it make? I know that autos normally get worse mileage then manuals

i get about 24-25 in the city and if i hit the interstate its around 28.

Z22 with 5 speed running 16" wheels. dont remember the tire size. Also have a wannabe Weber carb.

My truck gets better fuel mpg than my 01 Altima.

Seeing some of these numbers is funny. Granted, mine was modified, but I would be lucky to see over 18 with the Z24 and a weight of 2200lbs on scales.

I once made it from Akron, OH to Indiannapolis, IN on a single tank of gas (300 mi.) at 70+/-5mph, so ~30mpg.

Z22 with a chinese weber 32/36 (at the time.)

Now I'm getting about 24mpg, because some stupid shop put my oil pump in a spline off, and my ignition is retarded.

http://www.fueleconomy.gov still has the estimated EPA ratings for vehicles back to 1984.

28 years ago in 1985, my 2.4L 5-speed Nissan 720D was rated for 19city/24highway.

What do I really get? After tracking 28,704 miles, My average MPG has been 24.7MPG.
