It's really hard to stay out of boost in the TT. It certainly sucks the fuel down when I'm not just cruising. The best I've ever gotten is 25mpg on a road trip. The last track day I attended in it, it got around 4 mpg. I didn't buy either of these cars to daily drive though, so I really could care less what sort of milage they got. The Civic that I drive every day gets nearly 30mpg. DD's for the win.
I think the NA is actually supposed to get a little better gas milage than the TT in stock form. I don't ever trust EPA figures, but they are a start, I guess. If you're driving like a grandmother (55 on the highway, never accelerating past 3k rpms) you should get the following.
EPA Fuel Economy Information NA Z:
Normal Driving Average - 23.5 mpgEPA City/Highway - 17 / 25 mpgCruise Range - 440 miles (Yeah Right!)
EPA Fuel Economy Information TT Z:
Normal Driving Average - 18.5 mpgEPA City/Highway - 18 / 24 mpgCruise Range - 345 miles (Again, I laugh)
