gas light came on but have 3/4 of tank

93 ka24de. I got off work, and started my car as it was warming up all of audden ny gas light came on on the off 7 times which was weird, because I filled up to 3/4 of tank yesterday and needle is right below 3/4. Anyone know what this means?? its super weird. I know its not the needle messed up, because the last 2 times I put $40 in, it went to 3/4 of a tank.

Mine stays on all the time, it's annoying but I just fill up at half tank so I don't have to worry about it.

well i dunno about where you live, but when I put $40 I only get about 10 gallons lol....pull your pump hanger out and clean the contacts on the sender; sounds to me like a bad or dirty sender
