On a 1988 Nissan Pathfinder V6 what would cause gas to pour out of the manifold? And when we pull the oil dipstick out it smells like gas. There's no anifreeze in the oil either so we know it's not the head gasket.

What would cause this?

that could be it, it could be getting in through the vacuum line.... take the vacuum hose off and see if fuel comesout of the regulator (it shouldnt)

That still didn't work. It's still sending too much fuel to the throttle body carburator. We have now idea how to fix it.

Any suggestions?

Ok another update :oP we took the fuel pump fuse out and it started but as soon as we put the fuse in it kills it and it shuts right off. Right now we're checking the fuel pump, the fuel injectors and a bunch of different things on the carburetor.

We just aren't sure what exactly could be causing this????

Ok not that we got very many replies we got it fixed. my boyfriend changed the fuel injectors, the EGR valve and the computer(because it was corroded) and it's running now.
