I was watching CNN and some expert guy was saying that sometime this summer , gas prices were gonna go up to $5 and more per gallon. Does anybody only have their Q 45 as a main car, cause it is gonna be mighty expensive to fill her up. It already costs me $65 to $70 to fill up with super around here at $3.59/gallon. My other car is a 2003 Toyota Echo and its been getting a lot of driving time these days. I'll probably just use the Q for my weekend driving car. What is everybody else gonna do? Are you gonna sell your Q's or drive it less too?

EU guys live in a country smaller than the state i live in. They drive less. When CNN says that its gonna be 4-5-6 dollars its like giving the oil companies the ok to up the prices. Here i notice gas goes up and when people ***** and complain then it goes down 3 cents then up 10 cents. On my work break i noticed people walking places instead of driving 100feet. I WISH PEOPLE WOULD GET PISSED. If i had a good lawyer id grab a friend and drive 20mph down 70

Thats part of the price we pay. Its not going to upset me till it gets to EU prices.

By that time we'll have diesel fuel up to EU standards and I'll gladly get a German deisel.

I'm seriously thinking of swapping out the 3.54 gears in the diff with the 3.13 ring and pinion from the F50 Q45. It should improve mileage by at least 10%. If I can get 28 mpg from my 95 Q at around 65 mph, then the swap would be worth it.

But it might be a pipe dream on my part because of the horrible quality gasoline that they are swindling us with. I remember back in the late 90s getting a consistent 24 mpg during long trips on my 94 Q.

One time, I pulled off 28 mpg while cruising thru Wyoming and Montana. I guess the high elevation played a big part.

You bunch of sad sacks...

Here in Australia... right now it costs US$100 to fill up.

Our prices are roughly US$6 a gallon, and climbing.

And the EU excuse of travelling small distances really does not apply here. I cover over 600 miles a week or more.

Life is tough, the USA has the cheapest fuel in the world - be grateful.

Have a look at http://www.fuelwatch.com.au

Gives you an idea of what we are up against.

You will have to convert litres to gallons, but the currency conversion is pretty much just subtract $5 for every $100 - roughly

I have always assummed members would not have the Q as their primary or sole vehicle. That it would just be a member of their fleet.

With fuel now costing more than PROPER MAINTEANCE amd PRORATED REPAIRS [$3,000 per year] something half as heavy with half the displacement is necessary if you must drive over 10k per year in commuting.

Boy those old FWD G20 [21/29 with 5 speed] are looking better and better.http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg...shtml

I truly never understand these threads

If fuel prices or MPG is a concern for you, then driving a Q is s bad idea.

These discussions ("fuel prices and the oil-economy) are better suited for Gen Chat
