First I want to apologize for posting in the 350z forum, but the altima forum is broken

Sooo heres my problem..

I've had this altima for about a month.. i noticed gas in the oil and took it back to the car lot i got it from. they said it was just flooded and did an oil change. now a week later it has gas in the oil again its not overfilled or anything its just kinda thin and has a pretty strong gas smell to it.. i can think of 2 or 3 things it could be, rings , gasket , or injector.. but i dont have the time or money to try all of those , so i need to know what it most likely is plz

Welcome to Nicoit's normal to get a slight amount of gas into your oil, this is caused by blowby, basically the pisotn rings have a small gap in them to allow for expenasion, and you are going to get a very small insignificant of blowbuy on all engines, however if you're getting that much it could mean bad rings, which means rebuild, a compression test will tell you the condition of the rings, also if your fuel injectors are gunked up adn t atomizing the fuel well it can cause the fuel to come streaming out which is more prone to leaking, try using some high quality fuel injector cleaners,. a better spray pattern will have better atomizationa dn less of the fuel can leakdown

agreed ^ most places will do a compression test for you for cheap.. or you can buy a kit and do it yourself

you can also try the injector cleaner which is good to run thru the system every so often (evildky- just wondering, aren't you the one who always voices how you are completely against additives? )

and also, try to get it taken care of before you have to get inspected because I accidentally dumped a bit of fuel into my lower intake which mixed with the oil and caused me to fail for CO.. quick oil change fixed that

yup I'm completely against an additive taht supposed to clog fix physical problems, fuel injection cleaner is just a cleaner, like brake clean only it has to clean form the inside, leak fixes on the other hand clog and mess up more stuff, and are the opposite of helpful, I got a Z31 that some joker tried to fix with bars leak, the problem was a hole in the waterjacket made by the conecting rod! great plan
