so i was having a problem with the car starting, check to see if i have spark and gas, i have both. pulled the dipstick and all you smell is gas. :wtf2: so now either a i have a leaky injector, or b i have shot piston rings. iam going to do a oil change on it now to see if it will start after that.. the car... the motor has never been ran to my knowledge in the states. its been in the states for prob close to a year or 2. the motor is in awesome condition the coils all look brand new. what do you guys think the issue could be?

......Or C. You could have a combination of the two problems surfacing into one big problem.

My friend had 2 injectors stuck in the open position on his Z32, and drove around like that anyway, running insanely rich and misfiring. The excess fuel caused the piston rings to contract in those 2 cylinders, leaving gas to get into the oil and play between the cylinder wall and piston, eventually leading to catastrophic failure.

First thing I would do is test your injectors with a multimeter. I'm not sure on the exact Ohm reading of an RB series motor, but from what I've seen, most Nissans are between 10 and 14 ohms.

when you are cranking a car a ton when it wont start its kinda normal to get a little gas in your oil.

how much gas are you talking about here? just smell it? or can you see it separating in your oil?

if you cant see anything id hold off on the oilchange till you get the b**** running.

i dont believe the amount of gas was enough to really destory the rings. this is what ive come up with the car not being started in a long time means the rings are smaller due also to 20 degree weather. anther thing i found out today, the spark plugs were sparking but not a real bright spark.. i replaced the plugs today and first crank the engine started right up. the fuel was killing the spark. the gas in the cylinders slowly bipassed the rings into the oil. luckly the oil still had the viscosity of oil and not complete gas.. i did the oil change just for the fact it had gas and i didnt want to take any chances.. iam glad i did.. what motor oil do you guys recommend in the rbs along with weight?

sorry to bring up such an old topic but I'm getting a lot of fuel in my oil, so much that after I did an oil change and went on a 5 min test drive, the dipstick showed waaaay over the full mark.

Ive tested my injectors for leaks by pulling the rail off and priming the pump, did not see any leaks...

Any other thoughts on what it could be???
