So i just turbo'd my 191k mile DOHC 240. Its been turbo for about a month now. Done some full throttle runs with boost almost everyday.

I can smell fuel on my dipstick and the oil looks grayish. I just got 343miles to the tank which equals to around 22mpg, use to get around 30. Running around 15-16afr while cruise but other times very rich and wot is 11.5afr. Sometimes the car misses because its so rich.

Is it just because my ring's are worn from sooo many miles and now turbo pressure or is it because i'm so rich from intermitten bov relief's and decel air settings? Anything else can cause this?

Thanks

11.5 isn't that rich. In fact i think thats what most people would shoot for as an ideal safe AF ratio. You can always go leaner but you would have to have something to constantly monitor af and knock probably. Once you start getting in the 10's is runnin rich. Have you done a compression test recently? That will give some info on your rings and will eliminate some stuff.

Yea that 11.5 is attributed to my enthalpy tuned ecu. I actually have done a compression test a week ago and 1-3 cyl was around 175-180 and 4th was 160-165

my fourth cyl i think was always a little lower than the first three. I didn't do the oil thing but i guess i should to see if its the rings.

The thing is sometimes my car goes so rich that it will stumble and miss until you either throttle a lot more or get off the gas completely. This happens when i'm on the highway at constant throttle and lift the gas pedal just a little and bam super rich. most of the time it will go back to cruise afr when i get back on throttle but sometimes it will stay rich and the stumbling ensues.

What you guys think?

My plug gap is .35 and no missing at wot

What kinda BOV setup you got on there? If its not recirc. then whenever you go from low vac, or boost, to more vac (lifting up on the throttle) you will have a rich condition from the lost air of the BOV. What is your vac at idle?

Sounds like you might have a boost leak, about the missing.I change my oil every 1000-1500miles, gas just get's by sometimes or just smells that way. If oyu had a leakign injector like mine you'd know, because you would of had a spun rod bearing in 5 miles like me.
